Now that Spring is sometimes in the air, people — mostly women — dress differently.  I notice things here and there... it isn't a wholesale change yet.  I've seen a couple silk dresses that I liked... interesting pattern... nice color... different jackets.

A couple of times I was fooled by something.  I'd pass a woman and say to myself What color stockings is she wearing? and I realize she's not wearing stockings at all.  Her legs are so ghostly white that they have a kind of translucent pallor that looks more like stockings than skin.

Yes, my legs are white, too, but not that white.  Not that spooky wax-papery look.

I'm not making fun.  I'm just saying.
