The dog-walker's trick
Yesterday I saw a vetrinarian (a woman, though I don't know whether that matters), walking four dogs of assorted breed, and the dogs were all so well-behaved.
By coincidence, a moment later, I saw "the dog-walker", who is this woman in our neighborhood who walks tons of dogs. You see her with ten or twelve dogs, all the leashes in one hand... some of the dogs are huge, but they are all quiet, good. She will leave them outside a building while she runs one of the dogs inside or picks up another, and they quietly wait for her.
Now, these dogs are all from separate owners. They haven't been trained. They didn't grow up together, and the dog walker hasn't been walking them together for their whole lives.
Is there a trick to this? How does she do it? I was going to ask her, but she was on a bike and moving too fast.
Besides, she might not want to give away the secret to her livelihood.
