"I think being a woman is like being Irish." — Iris Murdoch
My President, My Headache
Nelson asked, "What are you so angry about?"
I said, "This Scooter Libby business makes me so angry! And there's nothing I can do!"
He said, "Sure there is! You can go to the internet and write something!"
Of course I know that it won't do anything except (maybe) make me feel a little better.
First off, I can see that I'm angry because I feel helpless.
I can laugh to some extent... I saw a headline that said, "He is so unpopular, he might as well do what he wants." Referring of course to Bush finally hitting the all-time lowest presidental approval rating in history.
On some news show (Nelson is a TV news junkie), they were wondering what might Bush's "legacy" be?
I think that there will be two: one for historians and one for us regular folk.
For regular people, Bush's legacy will be:
Who did get us into Vietnam? Somehow Oliver Stone blames Nixon, but wasn't it Eisenhower? Or was it JFK?

I think that there will be two: one for historians and one for us regular folk.
For regular people, Bush's legacy will be:
- he was a president and the son of a president!
- he said a LOT of goofy things, including that his biggest achievement was catching a fish
- he took more vacation time than any other president ever
- lowest approval rating of any president ever
