"I think being a woman is like being Irish." — Iris Murdoch
More with the luck stuff
Yesterday Emma's best friend came over for a playday. I took them to the park, where they sat for a long time on a green hill. It turned out they were looking for four-leaf clovers, and they actually found some!
She gave them to me, all in a clump and asked, "Can you put these in your pocket?"
I took the little green lump she gave me and straightened out the leaves. Then I flattened them between the pages of the book I was reading, so you can see plainly that they're four-leafed. (It seemed like such a mom thing to do.) Then I forgot about them until this morning when I gave them back to her.
I said, "Hey, first a bird pooped on me, then you found four-leaf clovers..." and before I could finish, Nelson said, "Next it's my turn!" which was what I was going to say.
