"I think being a woman is like being Irish." — Iris Murdoch

Keep those cards and letters!
I'm going on vacation on Friday after work, so I'm trying to get everything ready ahead of time.  I'll pack one bag tonight...  I called my sister Julie to ask if I could leave my car at her house (street cleaning rules here in the city would mean at least one ticket)... made an appt to get the brakes fixed before leaving the car with her... making to-do lists for work and home, identifying all the stuff I must do before leaving...

And I just this minute on a Sunday put my mail on hold for the period I'll be away.  Did you know you can do that online, at the Post Office website?

Nelson left with Emma last week.  His schedule is more flexible than mine.

Last night I saw My Super Ex-Girlfriend with Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson.  Luke Wilson is very good at that very American aw-shucks ma'am kind of thing, but both he and Uma looked their ages... it was a funny movie, I liked it.  Uma really does sell the needy, psycho girlfriend thing... very believable.  Eddie Izzard is amazing, I have to say.  He does his thing so effortlessly; you forget he's an actor.   There's some good dialog in it, too, especially between Luke Wilson and Rainn Wilson (what are the chances?).
